Rhu’s Room is a calm, cosy and curated play place created for curiosity, connection and conversation.

I know from experience, that once your wee one feels ‘too big’ for baby classes, but you don’t yet want the craziness of toddler classes or soft play… you can feel stuck with nowhere to go.

That’s why I created Rhu’s Room, named after my third child, to provide that space that was missing for this age range and their families. Somewhere a group can maybe get together, and actually sit for a chat while their wee ones play.

Intentionally small, Rhu’s Room brings together all the kinds of toys and open ended play pieces I wish I had, but have no room at home for, and keeps numbers capped to ensure a calmer experience.

Expect role play stations and busy boards; a dolls house, car garage and rocket ship; a varied library and a vast array of educational and open ended wooden toys.

At the moment, sessions are open booking, which means anyone can book the same time slot as you. However, sessions can be booked as a whole session and by one individual, just message us for a suitable day / time. This means that you can book the room exclusively for just your family, or one friend can book it for a group of friends to attend.

The general capacity is 6 children (6 adults and 6 children being the standard set up). However, a couple of siblings within the age range for the room can also attend and do not count towards the 6 children limit. as long as the total room capacity does not exceed 15 people. (This is subject to change.) If you wish to book for a sibling, we offer a sibling discount - just message us!

Rhu’s Room – Booking Terms

• All sessions must be pre-booked and paid for in advance.

• Refunds are not possible, credits may be issued at the managements discretion.

• Children must remain under the supervision of their accompanying adult at all times.

• Rhu’s Room is designed for babies and young children approximately 0–4 years. Please ensure all resources played with are appropriate for your child’s age and stage of development.

• Shoes should be removed before entering the play space. Socks must be worn by adults and children where appropriate.

• Please do not bring food or snacks into the playroom. Tea, coffee and refreshments should remain in the designated area.

• Please leave resources within Rhu’s Room and treat toys, equipment and furnishings with care. Any significant damage should be reported - left in a the designated ‘broken box’

• Please leave Rhu’s Room how you find it. There is a ‘lost toys’ box for when you can’t remember where something goes!

• Please do not attend if you or your child are unwell or have symptoms of a contagious illness.

• Bookings are for the stated session time. Please arrive and leave promptly to allow the room to be cleaned and reset safely between sessions.
